Distracted focus, cluttered mind has become the hallmark of our modern day life. With the advent of the internet and mobile phones, businesses now possess the tools to capture our attention at any time of the day.

Persistent bombardment of external stimuli leads to a continuous shift of focus throughout the day and some times during the night also. A defocused, cluttered mind is anxious and never at peace. Happiness eludes a mind in such an unstable state.

Happiness comes from a state of calm, focus and peace. The good news is that our brains have the capability to rewire neural patterns, heal, and declutter itself from the static all around. This is called “Neuroplasticity” and it's something really amazing.

Our brain needs our help. It needs time, time away from all the static everywhere. As long as the eyes are open and the external stimulus doesn’t stop, the mind can not focus, heal on the inside. Ever wondered why Rishi’s and monks have their eyes closed during prayer?

All the answers lie within, but first we must disconnect from the external to focus on the internal. I urge my readers to spend 30-40 minutes a day with your eyes closed, let your mind go where it wants to go, let it cleanse itself. Not only will it improve focus the rest of the day, you will be more stable emotionally, less anxious and make better decisions in both personal and professional life.

Even during the day, use the DO NOT DISTURB mode on your phone and protect your focus from unwanted notifications and people. It is really a life saver!

Find your calm, find your happiness within.
